OBJECTIVE

The Investigating Officer (IO) shall focus on:

  1. Prevention of cruelty to animals and illegal transportation of cattle.

  2. Rescue and protection of cattle being transported in violation of law.

  3. Identification and prosecution of transporters, owners, agents, middlemen, and other persons involved.

  4. Collection of documentary, scientific, and electronic evidence.

  5. Ensuring compliance with animal welfare laws and transport regulations.

  6. Conducting a professional, lawful, and qualitative investigation.

I. RECEIPT OF INFORMATION

  1. Receive complaint or credible information.

  2. Record information promptly.

  3. Inform superior officers where required.

  4. Organize interception team immediately.


II. INTERCEPTION OF VEHICLE

  1. Safely stop the vehicle.

  2. Ensure safety of officers, public, and animals.

  3. Prevent escape of suspects.

XI. SEIZURE OF PROPERTY

The IO shall seize:

The IO shall ensure:

  • Collection of documentary and electronic evidence.

  • Identification of all persons involved.

  • Compliance with animal welfare laws.

  • Timely prosecution of offenders.
